Puppy growth predictor
Wondering how big your puppy will get? Pop in their current age and weight and we’ll estimate their adult weight as a range, when they’ll likely be fully grown, and which growth stage they’re in now.
A rough estimate only
This is a rough estimate only. A puppy’s adult size depends heavily on breed, genetics and nutrition — mixed breeds especially are hard to predict. Your vet can give the best guidance. The figures here are based on widely-used veterinary rule-of-thumb growth formulas and are not a substitute for professional advice.
How the estimate works
The core method is a long-established rule of thumb: adult weight ≈ current weight ÷ current age in weeks × 52. It assumes a puppy reaches roughly its adult size around a year old, which holds reasonably well for small and medium dogs.
Larger and giant breeds grow for longer — anywhere up to 18–24 months — so the simple formula tends to over-estimate as they near maturity. To account for that we widen the range and lean on current weight once a puppy is around its typical maturity age. That’s why we always show the result as a range (±10–15%) rather than a single number.
Typical age fully grown by size: Toy & Small ~10–12 months · Medium ~12 months · Large ~15–18 months · Giant ~18–24 months.
