Please read — this is not a quote
Typical UK ranges from published sources (Vets Now, PDSA, ABI) to show why an emergency fund or insurance matters — NOT a quote. Real costs vary hugely by vet, region, your pet and the severity. In an emergency, contact your vet immediately — never delay care over cost; ask your vet about costs and payment options.
How to use these figures
Each range is a typical estimate, not a price list. A real bill often combines several items — for example an out-of-hours consultation, X-rays, blood tests, surgery and a few nights in hospital all at once. Selecting more than one scenario gives you a combined range so you can picture the bigger picture. Where the upper figure is commonly exceeded we show it with a “+”.
